When should you use the different toilet cleaner liquids?
Every toilet cleaning liquid has its strength and weakness. Depending on your situation eg. limescale build up you have to choose the toilet cleaning liquid accordingly, if you don't, you may just waste your money without getting the desired results.
we'll explore the benefits and drawbacks of three popular toilet cleaners: bleach, Harpic Black, and Toilet Duck.
Bleach: The good old trusted household friend
Bleach has long been a go-to choice for domestic cleaning, and for a good reason. It is a powerful disinfectant that effectively kills bacteria, eliminates unpleasant odors, and tackles stains. Bleach is particularly adept at removing discolouration on the toilet bowl, making it a reliable option for maintaining a spotless appearance. However, it's essential to note that bleach falls short when it comes to tackling limescale build-up. Bleach will may make it look like its colour has gone away, but because the limescale is remaining the hard water will keep on adding to it at speed.
Harpic Black: Your weapon against limescale
Harpic Black stands out as the heavyweight champion when it comes to combating limescale. With its robust formula, it targets and eliminates stubborn limescale build-up, leaving your toilet bowl gleaming. While Harpic Black is highly effective, some users may find its scent less than pleasant. Nevertheless, if your primary concern is tackling limescale, this cleaner is your weapon. don't tell anyone, but if you remove the water from the toilet and poor some Harpic down and leave it for an hour it can get rid of that yucky brown build up you see down at the bottom.
Toilet Duck: Household favourite, but not much useful
Toilet Duck has gained popularity for its delightful fragrances, making the cleaning experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the trade-off for the pleasant aroma is a lack of effectiveness in other key areas. This cleaner falls short in removing both discolouration and limescale, making it less suitable for those seeking a comprehensive cleaning solution. Additionally, be cautious when using Toilet Duck, as if you accidentally get a few drops on the toilet seat it will colour it blue and you will not be able to get rid of this. Another thing that I find is that even after using a toilet brush and flushing following the clean, there will be blue trickles coming down from under the rim! this one is not Neat and Clean Co. approved 🫣
Conclusion:
Each product serves a specific purpose, you just need to identify what is the problem you are having. When choosing the right cleaner for your bathroom, consider your priorities – whether it's disinfection, limescale removal, or a pleasant fragrance. Experiment with various products to find the perfect balance for your cleaning routine, ensuring that your bathroom remains a pristine and inviting space for everyone.
